FAQ Regarding the Current COVID-19 Situation

Wildau Institute of Technology and Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau are observing the current situation regarding the COVID-19 proliferation with lots of attention. The institute considers itself closely affiliated with the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau and complies with the directives of its administration. TH Wildau has been intensively dealing with the consequences of COVID-19 for the teaching operations in the past few weeks, has formed a crisis committee and launched different solutions. You will find the most recent information on the TH Wildau website: www.th-wildau.de/corona.

In the past few weeks we have already implemented numerous measures. We would like to inform the prospective students about the plans and strategies regarding the start of studies in 2020 and the teaching process at Wildau Institute of Technology.

Study Start 2020

In the case of traffic restrictions or cancellation of lectures that might occur this year, new WIT students will certainly be able to start their studies in autumn 2020. If it should be necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lectures and seminars will be offered as webinars using video conferencing solutions. The students will be able to attend them from home. Students and lecturers involved will receive the necessary technical support and will be able to contact the WIT team as well as the IT department at TH Wildau. We are convinced that, as always, we will be able to guarantee our students the best study experience, even under these unusual circumstances.

Wildau Institute of Technology is very well prepared for the impact of COVID-19 on teaching and operations of the institute. This being said, we would like to encourage all of the prospective students to follow their plans and apply for the study programme of choice at WIT.

Application Period 2020

Students holding a degree from an international university

Students who have gained their university degree outside Germany have to submit an online application via uni-assist application platform, regardless of their nationality. You should attach application documents with the attached notarized German or English translations. Due to the current situation in the context of COVID-19, this year, uni-assist desided to implement an online-only application procedure. In case it should not be possible for you to submit notarized copies, you may hand in regular copies. All the required notarized copies as well as other missing documents have to be submitted until the study start. The acceptance letters will be issued under the condition that all the required documents will be handed in until at latest 1 October 2020.

Students holing a degree from a German university

Starting 1 May 2020 you may hand in your application via email (info@wit-wildau.de). Furthermore, you have to register on our TH Wildau online application portal that will open on 1 June 2020: https://thonline.th-wildau.de. In case it should not be possible for you to submit notarized copies, you may hand in regular copies. All the required notarized copies as well as other missing documents have to be submitted until the study start. The acceptance letters will be issued under the condition that all the required documents will be handed in until at latest 1 October 2020.

Successful applicants for the study programme Master in Library Computer Science will be invited to an interview that will take place either on our campus in Wildau, or online.

Your Lectures in Summer Semester 2020

End-March the summer semester at TH Wildau has successfully started, as planned. It was only few days after the announcement of the measures regarding the restrictions of public life due to the COVID-19 situation. Under these circumstances, almost all lectures and seminars take place in a webinar format. Due to the close cooperation with TH Wildau, the institute benefits from its excellent IT infrastructure. In the upcoming weeks the lectures and seminars at Wildau Institute of Technology will continue taking place using modern e-learning technologies. Our lecturers receive all the necessary support in terms of IT and e-didactics.

Upon the recommendation of the university administration, the WIT team is mostly working in home office at the moment.
