Fireside Chats at the WIT is an excellent opportunity to get to know inspiring people from the professional practice. Our speakers provide useful insights about their job, recent developments within their branch and share expert knowledge. It is especially motivating to see that our graduates come back to us as skilled professionals and share their experience with our students.

On June 20, Vivek Sathyanarayana, Aviation Management graduate of 2016, talked about manufacturers management and his work at Airbus. In his position as managerial and technical consultant he works at the interface between engineering and management combining his technical background with the expertise from his Aviation Management studies. During his talk, Vivek was explaining the complex and fascinating process chain of aircraft construction to the Aviation Management and MBA students. He mentioned the cooperation with different suppliers and gave an overview of different challenges related to the logistics and process operations of aircraft construction. At the end the students had a chance to tackle the topic from a practical perspective: Vivek presented a simulation game that aimed at managing and planning of different process operations necessary for constructing an aircraft.

The fireside chat was rich in substance and once again presented a new perspective on the aviation industry. Additionally, the fireside chat contributed to the informal exchange between Aviation Management and MBA students.
